Unless you are in the middle of nowhere you won't have any trouble getting an English newspaper. "Athens News" is a local newspaper in English and not too bad. It focuses on Greek news rather than the latest gossip from the royal family. Whatever suits you.
Most bars have a satellite dish and about a million channels to choose from. Depending on the location they would switch on English or German stations. Especially during the major sports events the majority rule applies. If you are in a village packed with Germans you may have to watch Germany playing rather than you home team. For UK and Ireland this may not be a problem for the next couple of years at least when it comes to football.
Internet is widely available but often is not only slow but also expensive. 3-4 Euro an hour is normal. If you stay for longer best get your own. In most regions DSL is available if not you can buy a scratch card that gives you a certain amount of hours. A very good option is Forthnet. Internet access with them costs 20 Euro a month flat. Keep in mind you always pay the phone line on top. Hotels offer internet access but will charge you a lot more.
